EXECUTIVE SUMMARY OF AUTHENTIC DEVELOPMENT AGENCY (ADA) IN RWANDA
ADA is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) legally registered in Rwanda with Legal Personality no: 123/11. Ada is rooted in the Authentic Word Ministries (AWM) which serves as its moral and legal authority. The organization is committed to development and recognizes the important role of the Church in the socio-economic transformation, sustainable development as well as unity and social cohesion among people. ADA’s vision is to: “promote national transformation and socio-economic development” while its mission is to: “promote the development of people by satisfying their needs of a healthy soul in a healthy body by: fighting the spirit of poverty and restoring the dignity and position in Jesus”.
Strategic areas of ADA include:
- Economic development and food security focusing mainly on economic empowerment and entrepreneurship
- Education through establishment of nursery, primary, secondary and university across the country;
- Health by promoting primary health care to community members;
- Media through improving the quality of content and increasing coverage of our media platforms
- Gender Equality by ensuring balanced gender power dynamics between man and woman to socially and economically empower families and society at large through Women Arise Initiative
- Social and Humanitarian relief focusing on humanitarian relief response to natural disasters and manmade calamities using an appropriate Emergency Management approach to mitigate their diverse effects
The main objective of ADA is to improve quality of life of community members in different key developmental areas of intervention as informed by ADA’s Strategic Plan.
ADA has achieved tremendous work in some of sectors including education, health and media and therefore contributed to national development agenda through these specific areas.
- Education: Five Authentic International Academy schools have been established with nursery, primary and lower secondary levels in different areas of the country including: Kigali (Kicukiro), Rwamagana (Mwulire), Karangazi, Nyagatare andKarongi (Rubengera) and one University (Authentic Kingdom University) based in Kigali City.
- Health: Bethsaida Health Centre has been established and is contributing to community development through provision of quality healthcare services. The health Centre receives 2.500,000 patients per year. Due to both the quality of its services and its strategic geographical position within Kigali City, the health centre provides services to patients from three sectors, namely: Kicukiro, Gatenga and Gahanga.
- Media: Authentic Media House (Radio O and TV O) is one of the leading Christian Radio and TV stations in Rwanda. The media house is in operation since 2011 and was founded by Authentic Word Ministries. Our outlet seeks to set the standard by programming and broadcasting messages that influence positively the priorities, mindsets and habits of individuals and societies and deepen its understanding of the values of its founder. Radio O and TV O envision to serve as catalyst of holistic transformation of our audiences in Rwanda, Africa and the world based on biblical principles.
The outlet is currently building and reshuffling its programme focusing on the 7 spheres of influences, namely: Religion, education, business, family, media, entertainment and politics.
